Every figure on this chart is drawn from a public source — mostly the Union Budget 2026-27, RBI's state finance reports, PRS Legislative Research and CAG reports. Where a figure had to be modelled or estimated rather than read directly off a published table, that's noted below and shown as a dashed ribbon on the chart. Grouped by stage, in the same left-to-right order as the chart itself.
The guided story normalises Centre and state taxes to ₹100 throughout. Local bodies’ own income is shown separately in the full map. Values are rounded; allocation estimates and source vintages are documented below.
